{Zero Bridge}

Zero Bridge tells the story of a teen pickpocket and about daily life in Kashmir. This is the first dramatic narrative feature film about contemporary daily life in the Indian-controlled city of Srinagar, Kashmir. It was filmed entirely on location with a local cast of first-time, non-professional actors performing in their native Kashmiri language. This film is nominated for The Spirit Awards John Cassavetes Award.

Look for this film in select theaters February 16th.

This film follows the story of a married couple, apart for a night while the husband takes a business trip with a colleague to whom he's attracted. While he's resisting temptation, his wife encounters her past love. The film stars Sam Worthington, Keira Knightley, and Eva Mendes.

This film was already released overseas. I couldn't find a US release date, when we know more you will.

I got this teaser trailer for Xavier Dolan's forthcoming film Les Amours Imaginaires (or Heartbeats in the US). The film tells the story of three close friends who are involved in a love-triangle. The song featured in the trailer is "Bang Bang" by French singer Sheila.

Withered Hand's album Good News came out in the UK last year, but it's do to release stateside on March 1st via Absolutely Kosher. His sound has been described as part Frightened Rabbit, part Mountain Goats (two of my favs). He's just made another song available for download ("New Dawn") via My Old Kentucky Blog, as well as adding some stateside tour dates.

I recently picked up his You're Not Alone EP.

Monterrey Mexico's Nrmal Collective announces it's 2nd Annual Festival Nrmal on March 12th, 2011 on the grounds of Alianza Francesca de Monterrey in San Pedro Garza Garcia in Nuevo León, just on the outskirts of Monterrey proper. This year the festival will showcase more than 20 national and international independent musical acts on two stages including: Thee Oh Sees (US), Las Robertas (COSTA RICA), Chikita Violenta (MX), She's a Tease (MX), Bare Wires (US), Silje Nes (NORWAY), Surf City (NEW ZEALAND), Los Amparito (MX) and Bam Bam (MX).

They put together a mixtape of many artists you likely haven't heard!

El Cielo Gira (The Sky Turns) is a documentary that follows director Mercedes Alvarez as she returns to her native village Aldealsenor in remote northwest Spain after a 35 year absence. She was the last child born there; now only 14 aged inhabitants remain.

Josh Ritter's 2006 masterpiece The Animal Years is being re-issued in a deluxe package. There is even a bonus disc featuring Josh performing the entire album solo acoustic, plus four studio b-sides, and two videos. The acoustic album was recorded for this re-issue in 2008, and these recordings have not been previously released!

For the CD edition, both discs are housed in a tri-fold cardboard sleeve with new artwork and fresh liner notes by Tom Ricks (Pulitzer Prize winning journalist).
