{Wyatt/Atzmon/Stephen}

for-the-ghosts-with_469130t.jpg

This collaboration between Ros Stephen, Gilad Atzmon, and Robert Wyatt is a mixture of noirish standards and experimentation of jazz and classical with contemporary genres.

The song “Where Are They Now?” starts off with Atzmon playing a simple pattern, but wait for the beat to drop and the entrance of Palestinian hip-hop group Ramallah Underground.

The album is full of cover songs (Louis Armstrong’s "What A Wonderful World", Duke Ellington's "Lush Life"). My favorite amongst them is an interpretation of Chic's "At Last I Am Free".

Have a listen...
