I previously called Messersmith's latest album pure pop perfection! Well, now he's taking his new songs out on the road!
Jeremy will make it out to the west coast and the North American tour includes dates with Frightened Rabbit, KaiserCartel and Telekinesis.
The album is the final chapter of what Messersmith calls his "life-cycle trilogy". The series began with his debut The Alcatraz Kid (dealing with the difficulties of coming of age and finding an identity as a young adult), Silver City (concentrating on married life), and now The Reluctant Graveyard which tackles end-of-life issues and the inhabitants of a local historic cemetery. I know sounds a bit morbid, but it's influenced by 60's styled pop (ala The Zombies, The Beach Boys, The Kinks, The Monkees, The Beatles).
Here's a couple of my favs (the first reminding me so much of Elliott Smith's vocal delivery)...
"Toussaint Grey First In Life And Death"
Also, have a listen to AOL Spinner's song of the day "Organ Donor"
