{The Yellowbird Project}
The Canadian non-profit organization Yellow Bird Project has announced the addition of several new items to their collection of "t-shirts and charity to the tune of indie rock". The organization unveiled a brand-new t-shirt designed by eclectic indie pop outfit Of Montreal (View Right Here) as well as a new official Yellow Bird Project t-shirt and hoodie with new adorable logo and website to match.
To celebrate these new offerings, Yellow Bird Project is teaming up with Filter Magazine for an exclusive reader giveaway. One lucky Filter reader will receive the grand prize- a VIP prize pack with the new Of Montreal t-shirt, the new YBP hoodie and a copy of the organization's soon-to-be-released The Indie Rock Coloring Book. Two runner-ups will win the new YBP t-shirt, and a t-shirt designed by either Bon Iver or The National. The cutoff for the month-long contest is August 27th. Enter Right Here.
Speaking of The Indie Rock Coloring Book (Chronicle Books)...the coloring book features activity pages by acclaimed artist/graphic designer Andy J. Miller. The drawings are inspired by and in conjunction with various artists including Rilo Kiley, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT, Joseph Arthur and The National to name a few. The book is intended to raise awareness of the Yellow Bird Project and its contributing artists with all royalties earned benefiting the charities that have been chosen by YBP artists. The coloring book has already drawn praise from some of the musicians featured therein: "This is the greatest coloring book since coloring was invented," lauded The National's Matt Berninger. The Indie Rock Coloring Book hits shelves in September, but is available for pre-order now from Amazon.com.
