{Babel}
I caught an exclusive engagement of Babel a couple of weeks ago and I loved it. It's a very emotional film with three storylines set in three different contenents that all intertwine. Essentially Babel is about how families are torn apart and come together. The cinematography is spectacular, the Mexican wedding shots are lively, the Tokyo scenes are my favorite (particularly the club scene). The film is now playing in theaters nationwide. As scenes shift continents, so does the music used in the film. Here's a sample of the soundtrack...
Celso Pina - "Cumbia Sobre el Rio"
Rip Slyme - "Masterpiece"
Gustavo Santaolalla scores the music for the film (and the pieces are great), but this one is by far my favorite...
Ryuichi Sakamoto - "Bibo No Aozora"
Purchase the soundtrack here.
