Three years after entering prison for robbery as a 19-year-old heroin addict, Sherry Swanson (Maggie Gyllenhaal) begins her first day of freedom, clean and sober. A model prisoner who has undergone personal transformation, she immediately sets out to regain custody of her young daughter Alexis (Ryan Simpkins).
Sherrybaby is produced by IFC Films and written and directed by Laurie Collyer. The film opened in select theaters on September 8th, but no nationwide release date has yet been set. So if you don't see this at your local theater sometime soon then look for it on your Netflix.
