{Ron Sexsmith - Time Being}

Long considered one of thee best songwriters, Sexsmith's work has been praised by rock 'n' pop luminaries like Elton John, Bono, Radiohead, Coldplay and Elvis Costello.

The overriding theme of this new record is time – the impermanence of life, and the inevitability of death. As always, Sexsmith’s songwriting is in top form, but this time around there's a cynical side that Ron has never before been displayed. The album has it's fair share of ballads, but also includes some edgier material like "The Grim Trucker", which features the poignant line 'Some say that if we get it right in this life than we never come back'. "Jazz At The Bookstore" is another interesting number that introduces some blues tension, while "Never Give Up" is such a charming lullaby it’s hard not to fall in love with it. Time Being is set for a June 20 release.
