Joseph Arthur posted a somber new song on his website called "Last Train To Ithaca", written soon after Hurricane Katrina struck.

From his site: "There is a line in it "Everybody lost their home in a wind named Katrina." Not only the people of New Orleans but all Americans were abandoned in the wake of this catastrophe. There is still much to be done. I offer this song as a reminder of the people who still need our help. Please make a donation large or small at www.mercycorps.org or visit inthesunfoundation.org." Listen to the song via Joseph Arthur's site.

Joseph Arthur's song In The Sun inspired Michael Stipe to make an iTunes Exclusive EP with all proceeds going to the In The Sun Foundation, which was established by Stipe for the purpose of helping the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The EP features 6 different versions of the song featuring various guests on each track. The original version from Arthur's 2000 album Come Where I'm From.
