{Little Britain}
"Britain, Britain, Britain, land of technological achievement. We've had running water for over 10 years, an underground tunnel that links us to Peru, and we invented the cat," narrates Tom Baker at the opening with the hilarious British sketch comedy series. Creators and stars Matt Lucas and David Walliams acknowledge a large debt to The League of Gentlemen, but the duo create their own niche of comedy (and characters) that takes viewers all over Britain to find it's most eccentrics.
From Darkly Noon, where Vicky Pollard gives anything but straight answers ("Yeah, but no, but yeah"), to the Welsh village with only one gay ("But I'm the only gay in the village"), to the council estate where Lou looks after his wheelchair-bound mate Andy ("Yeah, I know"), to Kelsey Grammar School where pupils are continually baffled and confused by their teacher. Many of the sketches rely on a single incident or catchphrase repeated over and over in only slightly different contexts, but that never makes 'em any less funny...
