{Essential Viewing}

I have yet to actually see either of these films, but I've read rave reviews about both. This coming weekend I plan to take in at least one of these films.
Tsotsi plost summary:
On the edges of Johannesburg, South Africa, 19-year-old Tsotsi’s life has no meaning beyond survival. Orphaned at an early age, he has learned to fend for himself. One night, driven to the brink of desperation, Tsotsi steals a woman’s car. But as he is driving off, he makes a shocking discovery in the backseat. This film is based on the novel by Athol Fugard. Transamerica plot summary:
Stanley is a perfectly adjusted, conservative trans-sexual who’s about to take the final step to becoming Bree, the woman he always wanted to be - until he finds out that he is the parent of a long-lost 17 year old son. Afraid to tell the rebellious teen-ager the truth, he embarks on a journey with him that will challenge and change both their lives. View the trailer here.
