{Ultimate Avengers}

Essential viewing? I think not. This first ever animated motion picture from Marvel (in conjunction with Lions Gate Films) may just end up being the first and the last. This straight to dvd animated feature just doesn't appear to have any bang for my buck. I grew up reading Marvel comic books, so as a fan, it would've been incredible to see a studio put some real time and energy into putting together some nice animation with a bit of a storyline. This however, doesn't even look as good as that crappy Avengers cartoon that aired years ago...and don't even get me started on this lineup? Black Widow? Hulk and Thor, on the same team? They should be fighting against each other, now that would be a treat! I've got these old Hulk cartoon episodes where he fights against Sasquatch and Ghost Rider...now those were neat. Okay, I think the fanboy in me has vented. Still, this looks less silly than some of the stills I've seen from the X-Men 3 movie. Watch the trailer here, just don't say I didn't warn you. Order it if you like here.
