{Live Review}
{The King of France / The Helio Sequence}

Last week the flu got a hold of me, picked me up, threw me around for awhile, and then knocked me on my ass. Despite my symptoms, by the time friday rolled around I was pretty sick of of staring at the same scenery from my bed. So I decided to take advantage of the free pair of tix I recieved to see The Helio Sequence and The King of France at Spaceland. I was planning on writing up a show review, but the night had other plans in store for me. First off: there were far too many people inside to manuever around and frankly I just didn't have the strength for it, Second: it took over a half an hour to get a drink, and I don't fancy waiting that long to spend my hard earned cash to destroy my own liver. I was feeling shitty all over and not even spotting some guy who looked an awful lot like Eddy Norton managed to cheer me up much. I managed to catch half of King of France's set, the band consists of vocalist Steve Salad and drummer (veteran music journalist/ author) Michael Azerrad. They sounded great playing songs from their latest self-titled album, but I was feeling all too claustrophobic so I headed out. To top off my night, despite leaving early, I was greeted with a parking ticket on my car. I should have stayed home that night and fully recovered, oh well live and learn. Fernando stayed though and said the bands were great...he should be writing a review!
